Billy Bob’s Texas

The famous Billy Bob’s Texas is a must-visit!

Built originally in 1910 as an open-air barn, the 127,000 square feet interior was converted to a department store in the 1950’s (where the stock boys had to wear roller skates to get around the large space!), and became Billy Bob’s Texas on April 1st, 1981. It can accommodate up to 6,000 people, with the showroom seating over 1,900 guests and has been featured in numerous movies, TV shows and music videos over the years.

I keep getting reminded, everything in Texas is BIG!

Good to know…! πŸ˜‰

Neon lights are everywhere, including on the ceiling!

Billy Bob’s Texas has 26 individual bar stations.

With all this encouragement….

…Guess I should at least try a “piece of Texas”! (Tastes like beer…πŸ˜‰)

There are some parts of Texas I guess I just have to accept despite my feelings toward it…

“Billy Bob’s Texas has never had a mechanical bull. They have real bulls and real cowboys with shows every Friday and Saturday night. Over 47,000 bulls have bucked in Billy Bob’s indoor arena.” – source Billy Bob’s Texas info sheet Fun Facts.

…like all the “critters”.

The famous mirror-ball saddle above the Honky Tonk dance floor. As featured in the movie starring Dolly Parton and Sylvester Stallone, “Rhinestone”.

Hmm.. so this is why so many Americans manage to get their “music” out there..?!

And speaking of musicians, the walls are decked out with celebrity hand prints of those who have visited Billy Bob’s Texas over the years.

Memorabilia everywhere is just a given.

As is saddles as chairs…!

…and true bathroom “stalls”…

…and trivia coating the walls!

It’s Billy Bob’s Texas don’t ya know?!
